Thank you for electing me to the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District Board of Directors Seat A. I ran for the School Board because as a parent of three young children attending the Mat-Su Borough Schools, and a professional educator with over 24 years of experience in the public school system in Alaska, I am passionate about the importance of providing an excellent education for all children. I bring professional qualifications and experiences that will assist in defining a vision and direction for our school district, and with your support we can make the schools in our borough the very best for our children.

I will pursue the following:

  • Educate all of the borough’s children with high quality programs that meet their needs.

  • Use borough tax dollars in an efficient targeted manner.

  • Secure adequate state & federal funding to promote a quality educational program.

  • Review policies and regulations to ensure the educational needs of our children are being met.

  • Collaborate with the Borough Assembly and attend its meetings.

  • Work closely with our legislators to obtain adequate funding and appropriate legislation is written to meet the needs of our district.

  • Develop partnerships with the business community by soliciting input into program development.

  • Help make quality skilled trade training/education available to all students.

  • Make certain all course requirements reflect 21st century needs and standards.

  • Do all I can to assist the Mat-Su Borough School District in becoming the best district in Alaska.
